      how this site works

The sound comes from Strudel, a JavaScript port of TidalCycles, and the visuals from Hydra, a video synth by Olivia Jack. Both run right in your browser, so there's nothing to install.

Want to play? Press { } edit the code to open the code panel, change anything you like, and press ▶ run to hear and see the result. Press ↺ reset to go back to the original.

You can also click or drag the tags at the top of the page, like drums(…), melody(…) or .jux(rev), to connect or disconnect them, and hear how the music and visuals change.
